Fibre optic connection from the Emergency Management Centre to the Airport Terminal

AlburyCity will connect the Albury Airport Terminal to the Local Emergency Management Centre (LEMC) via fibre optic cable. This connection will reduce the risk of communication failure to the Albury Airport Terminal and the LEMC.

AlburyCity has installed microwave and fibre optic infrastructure across the region to provide data and communication services for ACC and emergency services. Albury City is proposing to connect the Albury Airport Terminal to the Local Emergency Management Centre (LEMC) via fibre optic cable. This connection will reduce the risk of communication failure to the Albury Airport Terminal and the LEMC.

The LEMC and the Albury Airport Terminal run on separate microwave networks. By connecting the LEMC and Albury Airport Terminal with fibre, if one microwave network fails the other network has the capacity to deliver continuity of service. This provides a significant improvement in service resilience.

Improve resilience of data and communications services for the Local Emergency Management Centre (LEMC) and Albury Airport Terminal. Both centres have alternative data and communication infrastructure that can be leveraged in a network failure.
