In encouraging signs for the recovery of the region’s visitor economy, Qantas has significantly increased its flight schedule between Albury and Sydney during October.
After reducing its Albury-Sydney schedule in July Qantas has announced plans to increase its services on the route by 11 flights per month.
From 1 to 23 October, the airline will provide three flights a week, with that figure to rise to ten flights a week between 25 and 31 October.
Albury Airport Terminal will gradually re-commence weekend operations over the later part of October with the region preparing to welcome more business and holiday travellers as COVID restrictions continue to ease.
The vote of support for the Albury route by Qantas comes as the Federal Government announced it would extend the Domestic Aviation Network Support and Regional Airline Network Support programs to encourage growth in the struggling aviation sector
